Pharmacist to Action! 

Martin Payer is a certified diabetes educator and pharmacist-owner in Gatineau, Quebec. He is actively involved in the care and management of diabetic patients in his region. In addition to being president of Diabetes Outaouais, he has completed research in community settings on diabetes care and participated in pilot projects targeting diabetic patients in the Outaouais region. He advocates a clinical approach with his patients and is always looking for ways to promote the expanded role of the pharmacist in his pharmacies.  

Passionate about educating patients and health professionals, Martin has been called upon to give numerous lectures on diabetes. He is the author of scientific articles on diabetes and a clinical instructor for the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University (Outaouais campus), as well as an adjunct professor in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ottawa.
